Sustainability at Sonus Alpis

In harmony with nature – travel consciously, enjoy responsibly

It is not just the nature that surrounds us, but the deep connection to it that shapes our actions. For us, sustainability means living in rhythm with the mountains, using resources mindfully, and preserving the beauty of the Dolomites for future generations. At our adults-only hotel on the Seiser Alm, we invite you to become part of this philosophy – for a travel experience that embraces nature in every way.

In this regard, we are proud to have obtained the GSTC certificate, which represents a further and important step forward towards the sustainability of the hotel.

We look forward to welcoming you to our small, family-run hotel in Kastelruth.

Our Sustainability Initiatives
Environment

We rely exclusively on renewable energy from South Tyrolean hydropower and increasingly use regional products to minimize transport distances. A photovoltaic system is planned to generate our own sustainable electricity. During renovations, we also ensure the use of environmentally friendly, locally sourced materials.

Sustainable Dining

Our kitchen is committed to regional and seasonal ingredients, sourced primarily from local producers. Fresh herbs are harvested directly from our own garden, and our wine selection features exquisite South Tyrolean wines. This creates an authentic dining experience in harmony with nature.

Less Waste, More Efficiency

Sustainability also means using resources responsibly. We reduce packaging waste, prefer reusable alternatives, and carefully separate waste to ensure environmentally friendly disposal.

Eco-Friendly Mobility

Upon arrival, guests receive the Südtirol Guest Pass, which allows free use of public transportation throughout South Tyrol. We also provide charging stations for electric vehicles. Thanks to our excellent transport connections, Sonus Alpis is easily accessible even without a car. Learn more here .

Sustainable Cleaning

Our housekeeping team uses environmentally friendly cleaning products with biodegradable ingredients. We also take a mindful approach to water and resource consumption to minimize our environmental impact.

Safety & Responsibility

For us, sustainability also means taking responsibility for our team and our region. We are committed to fair working conditions, a respectful and supportive work environment, and the promotion of local culture and community initiatives. In doing so, we create an environment where everyone feels comfortable – with a focus on accessibility. Our spacious, barrier-free rooms with plenty of room to move allow for a relaxing stay for all. Your Contribution to Sustainability

Sustainability starts with small gestures. Bring your own bath slippers, conserve water through mindful use, and support our waste separation system. Use the Südtirol Guest Pass to explore the region in an eco-friendly way using public transport. Appreciate our team for their daily dedication and respect the unique nature of the Seiser Alm and the Dolomites – so that it remains preserved for future generations.
